SATPUDA FOUNDATION URGENTLY NEEDS A DIRECTOR (CONSERVATION) FOR CENTRAL INDIA


Qualification: Post Graduate in Biology (preferably M. Sc. wildlife science, Conservation/ Management from reputed institute) with at least five years experience of handling field conservation and research programmes at any reputed wildlife NGO in India

The Director must have the knowledge of wildlife management, conservation practices and methodologies of conducting wildlife research programmes. He/she should specially know mapping of wild animal locations, radiotelemetry, camera trapping other capturing-recapturing techniques, GIS-based monitoring etc. The candidate should also know Protected area management issues like impacts on wildlife habitats, Survey of human-animal conflicts, threat identification surveys, management-oriented research projects, conservation plans and Management Plans.

Responsibilities: The Director will have to prepare proposals, do fund-raising, implement the research/conservation projects and monitor the progress around 5 Tiger Reserves in central India in Satpuda Landscape.

The post is based at Nagpur and will have to operate in and around Tiger Reserves and PAs in Satpuda Landscape in central India. Salary Rs.20,000 to 22,000/month and negotiable (depending upon qualification and experience).
