Conservation
work
On February 6, Anoop and Niranjan led a team of 20 children of Ambadi
village in a programme to clean the area next to a hand pump in the village. A
drainage ditch, which was meant to take away the spill over water, had become
clogged with mud. Instead of flowing away, water was stagnating around the hand
pump, leading to a bog. Our team cleaned the ditch and dug a canal to take the
spill over water some distance away from the hand pump. Photos below.
On February 6, Niranjan led 8 children from Turia village on a nature
trail in the jungle adjoining the village. On the trail, Niranjan identified
various species of local flora and fauna and explained the need for
conservation to the children. A similar nature trail was organized on February
28 for 15 students of Telia.
