October 1-7 was “Wildlife

activities were held by the staff in the area of operations, as reported
separately.
On October 22, field
assistant Niranjan Hinge organized a voluntary work project at Khamba
village. Villagers with the assistance of Niranjan cleaned the area near a hand
pump, which had become overgrown with wild vegetation due to heavy monsoon rains. Photos below.
On October 12 and
20, Niranjan took students from Turia and Satosha respectively on nature trails
on which he spotted and identified butterflies and birds encountered in the
area near the villages. He also explained techniques of identifying pugmarks
and hoofmarks of animals near the village.
