Conservation

As part of our seasonal conservation activities, we organize plantation programmes across the landscape during the monsoon. During July Bandu organized 4 programmes in which a total of 55 saplings were planted in 4 school campuses. Some of the saplings were provided by the villagers themselves and others by the Forest Department. Species planted included neem, karanj, sisum, jambul, mango and sitaphal.

On July 13, Bandu organized an anti-plastic programme at Sitarampeth in which school students cleaned the main village road of plastic litter and waste. The litter/waste was then buried in pits.

During July, Bandu also arranged for 2 vegetable patches to be set up in schools at Kondegaon and Bamdeli. The patches were set up on vacant spaces available within the premises. Vegetables which will be grown include spinach, tomatoes, methi, baingan, chillies. The vegetables will be used to supplement the provisions available under the Government’s mid-day meal scheme for school children.
