As part of our water conservation work, on January 11 we organized a programme to build a check dam at Moto jhodi nallah, around 0.5 km from Chapri, inside the jungle. Chital are regularly spotted in the area, along with occasional spotting of wild boar, tiger, leopard and fox.
On January 18, Amit and Sampath led a team of 7 people in a programme to clear wild growth around a well at Patpara. Wild growth had proliferated around the well and access to the well was affected. Our team, which comprised 4 youths from the village and 4 women, removed the wild growth and cleaned the area. Photos below.
We also held 3 programmes during January to promote awareness about vermi-compost and cattle vaccination. Details are given in the above table. Deputy Ranger (Khatiya Range) S C Thakre and Forest Guard (Samaiya) Mukesh Patel participated in some of the programmes.

On January 5, our team organized an anti-plastic programme at Batwar. Amit and Sampath spoke to the villagers of the village about the harmful impact of plastic/polythene on the environment and motivated them to remove such litter from the village. The team of villagers and students went around the village, collecting plastic and polythene litter/waste, which were then buried in a pit on the outskirts of the village. Another anti-plastic programme was organized at Samaiya on January 17. Photo of the Samaiya programme below.
