Activity Update December 2013: Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve

Highlights:


  • ·       Completed survey of unemployed youths in 4 villages
  • ·       Completed socio-economic survey of one village
  • ·       Registered nine schools (nine villages) for our educational programmes
  • ·       Five medical camps – 435 patients treated


We have started activities in the Navegaon-Nagzira belt. We have selected a total of 25 villages located mainly in the belt connecting Nagzira and Navegaon.  

Three villages – Pitezari, Chorkamara and Mangezari – have entry gates to the Tiger reserve.

During December, our team conducted survey of unemployed youths in 4 villages – Mangezari, Kodebarra, Jindatola, Govindpur. We have taken down the names of unemployed youths, their qualifications,  their interest/desire for training and skill-enhancement.

We have also completed socio-economic survey of one village - Govindpur. 

Six medical camps were held during the month.
